The
students are deep into their winter classroom and extra curricular
activities. While the teachers are preparing the students
for the ISAT test, the students are participating in a wide
variety of activities.
The Scholastic Bowl team is practicing and getting ready for
their first meet on February 16. Miss Jaggers has 7 students
on the team and is very encouraged by the way practices are
going. Good luck to the BVS Scholastic Bowl Team.
The girls basketball team has their conference tournament
on February 12, 13, 16, 17. Coach Corwin said the girls have
really improved through the season and she is looking forward
to a great tournament. Good Luck Girls!
The
speech team members have chosen their partners and are working
on their presentations. The students have memorized their
lines and are working on blocking and expression during their
lunch and 8th period study halls. Everyone enjoys watching
their skits as they prepare for their competition on February
22 in Malden. Go Speech Team!
ISAT tests will be given during the first week of March which
seems to be coming fast. The teachers and students are busy
reviewing material that was covered earlier in the year as
well as practicing writing skills.
It will help the students a great deal if they have a good
nights sleep and a filling healthy breakfast on the days of
the tests.
The web
page team has some new members this year who are busy and
struggling to find time work create their pages. Their
pages are coming along slowly but will be interesting when
they are up on the school site. Please be patient.

Be
sure to check the Calendars, Menus, and Schedules page to see
what's for lunch, the Scholastic Bowl team meet and practice
schedule, as well as what's happening at school.
Recycling continues for the small inkjet cartridges and aluminum
cans. Send your deskjet ink cartridges and pop cans to school
with your students. It would be helpful if the cans were already
crushed. No beer cans. Any student who turns in ink cartridges
and cans to Mrs. Stander will receive a treat at the end of
the nine weeks.
